I did not plan this at all. As I was cutting a board for a school project, this piece was left out. Right when I was about to throw it away, my hand did not want to let it go and then all sorts of crazy thoughts started going through my head and that’s how I came up with this.

I used a 20″x1″ board with 0.5 Staeadtler pigment ink

Na, not really. I find them awfully boring. They can’t even play fetch! like WTF?

Those ones are even worse…Fighting Phins? Really? How did that even happen? Like, did a fighting fish mate with a dolphin?! How’s that even possible?! Wait, no, don’t even try to think about it. Just the thought of it will give you a brain tumor! You’ve been warned!

And whatchu doing for xmas eve? This year, somehow, I have no plans. It’s usually my parents, bro and I spending xmas eve together, but this year my parents decided to go party somewhere else and now I have nothing planned. yay.

I’ve been one Christmas break since last week, and so far it’s been absolutely awesome! I usually don’t really like holidays because after I work my ass off for 7 days a week without any time off, my brain and my hands can’t figure out what to do with themselves during any type of holidays. And thus why, this time, I decided to keep myself busy with painting some canvas. Not only it’s been keeping me away from boredom, but also to maintain/improve my creativity, as well as drawing skills. Yup, if I stop drawing for more than 2 weeks, I find that I get quite rusty.

Anyway, I bought 4 canvases. The first one turned out like shit. If you must know, last time I really painted something was about 10 years ago. I’ve painted a few school project this year, as well as last year, but I don’t think that they count because my heart was just not into them.

The second and third canvas are for friends, and so I cannot post them yet. Only after Christmas. But here’s a one, that I made for myself and will hang in the living room. So far, I only have the linear work done. I still have to figure out what colours I should combine. I don’t want to go with the typical colours, because well….they’re too typical.

Oh by the way, India ink is such a bitch to work with on canvas! But i’m getting a hang of it!

Well, school is almost over and I’m definitely thinking of purchasing a bunch of canvas to keep myself busy during the christmas break, because if I would go insane.

This is my very first print. The quality is pretty shit, but not bad. 8.5×11

I finally discovered the beauty of live tracing in Illustrator, and thus I scanned it and now working on it digitally. I also found out that now you can, in Illustrator CS5, use pen pressure with Wacom. Like, what the fuck? For real? This is fucking awesome! On top of that, it’s much better than using Photoshop, because your linear work are not pixels! So you can resize your work without damaging anything! I haven’t used my Wacom in years, and now it has become handy again! I still have a lot more details to remove/add to it.

Holyfuck, it does look like a sticker!
